JAMMU, Nov 6: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) asked the Government to release the salaries of Kashmiri Pandit employees, working under PM Package in Valley or face dire consequences.
This was stated by KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri during a meeting, he said that the family members of the KP employees working under PM Package are facing starvation after they have been deprived of their salaries, which is only the source of income for the employees.
He appealed to the State and Central Governments to release the salaries of KP victim employees without any further delay so that their families may not face hardships anymore.
He said that majority of employees have not received their salaries for the months of July and August and on the other hand, officials have directed for complete withheld of their salaries from September onwards.
While expressing anguish, Kundan Kashmiri stated that salaries of these KP employees have never been released on time since their appointment in Valley under PM Package, adding that their salaries are pending for the last three to four months and if Government further stops their salaries, the employees and their families will add miseries and problems in their lives.
“Majority of the employees has made admissions of their children in Jammu and other places, but they are unable to pay their monthly fee”, he said, adding that hundreds of package and non-package employees are on peaceful protest for about one hundred days at the office of Relief Commissioner in support of their demands after they have left Valley due to unrest and mob violence but unfortunately neither State nor Centre showed any concern to mitigate their sufferings.
“These employees are genuinely seeking their adjustment in camp offices at Jammu or temporary attachment till there community would be shifted to consolidated place in the Valley”, he added.
Kundan Kashmiri warned that KP community will come on road if the salaries of the employees are not released at the earliest. He also warned of dire consequences if Government compels the employees to work under stress in Valley.
