AIIMS may help train Railway doctors

Railways are  exploring the possibility of forging ties with premier medical institute AIIMS
to help its vast pool of doctors get specialised training.

The PSU  behemoth is “in favour of exploiting opportunities which are mutually beneficial  to each other,” a senior Railway official said.

He  said several such issues were discussed when a team of doctors from AIIMS called  on Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee here yesterday.

“Offering specialised training to doctors of Railway Health Services came up for  discussion during the interaction.

At this point, it was decided to explore whether Railways can forge ties with  AIIMS for specialised training for its doctors,” the official said. The  doctors on the other hand raised several issues which the minister assured to  look into, he said.
