Clerical cadre to go on strike on Nov 16

JAMMU, Nov 3: Jammu -Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association has made an appeal to all employees of Jammu division to support the call of complete pen down strike on November 16 and also assemble in front of Press Club on November 17 to show solidarity with the clerical cadre who are fighting tooth and nail for removal of pay anomalies.
The appeal was made at a press conference by Babu Hussain Malik, State president of Association here, today along with its other office bearers.
The Association also made an appeal to the district bodies of employees to assemble in front of DC offices in their respective districts and submit a memorandum to concerned DCs highlighting the demands of the clerical cadre.
The Association leaders appealed the Government to implement the judgement of the State High Court in this regard. Following the court directives the Government framed committee but this too proved an eye wash as no time frame has been given to it by the Government up to which it can submit its report. To hoodwink the employees, the Government has now framed another committee, they added.
Malik said it is not known when the already framed committee’s fate is not known what is the fun of framing another committee.
The Association leaders said that they have been betrayed by the previous Government which failed to fulfill the commitment made with the Association from time to time regarding removal of pay anomalies in the clerical cadre.
They demanded immediate removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre by sanctioning grade of Rs 4000-6000 to Junior Assistants and Rs 4500-7000 to Senior Assistants and 5500 to Rs 9000 to Head Assistants as well as Junior Stenographers with effect from February 19, 2003.
The other demands highlighted included DPC in all departments be conducted after every six months with reorganisation of clerical cadre and implementation of 7th Pay Commission on the pattern of Central Government.
The other members of the Association present in the press conference included Bharat Bhushan, Ashok Singh, Yash Pal Sharma, Meenakshi Sharma, Jaswant  Singh, Ansuya Gupta, Seva Ram Rathore, Munish Sharma, Vishwa Bandhu, Farida Bano, Vikas Chander  and Mohammed Latif.
