UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, Feb2011




   The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2011 on 12th June, 2011 for recruitment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and certain other Group 'A' and Group 'B' Central Services/ Posts. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.

 

  • Eligibility Conditions:
    1. Age Limit: Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on 1st August 2011. The Upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes and Certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the notice.
    2. Educational Qualifications: Degree of a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
    3. Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in the Appendix-III of Rules for the Civil Services Examination, 2011 published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 19th Feb 2011
    4. Number of Attempts: The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows:

    5. Candidates my apply ONLINE using the website www.upsconline.nic.in detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the above mentioned website.
    6. Candidates may also apply OFFLINE in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices (Specified in Appendix-III of the Notice published in Employment News dated 19.02.2011) throught the country against cash payment of Rs. 30/- only. Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination.


            Fee:   

      Candidates applying  ONLINE are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs. 50/- only either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card.

      Candidates applying OFFLINE (through Common Application Form) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- only through Central Recruitment fee stamp only.

      Female/ SC/ ST/ PH candidates are exempted from payment of fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees)

      Last Date: 21.03.2011 ONLINE (28.03.2011 in case of OFFLINE for candidates from far_flung areas)
