Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence invites applications for the existing vacancy of Part-time Non-official Directors in the following PSU under its administrative control:-

2.         ELIGIBILITY:  (In line with Department of Public Enterprises guidelines)

a)  Qualification:        Minimum qualification for part-time non-official Directors would be graduate degree from a recognised University.

b) Experience:            Not less than 10 years at the level of Joint Secretary and above in the Government; CMD/MD in Corporate Sector/PSU; Professor level in an Academic Institution or professionals of repute like eminent Chartered Accountants/Cost Accountants at the level of Directors of Institutes/Heads of Department; persons of eminence with proven track record from Industry, Business or Agriculture.

c) Age:                        The age band should be between 45-65 years(minimum/maximum limit).  This could however, be relaxed for eminent professionals, for reasons to be recorded, being limited to 70 years. 

3.         DURATION OF APPOINTMENT:          

The appointment shall be for a period of 03 years or till further orders. 

4.         PROCEDURE AND PARAMETERS FOR SHORTLISTING THE APPLICANTS AND ARRIVING AT A PANEL OF SUITABLE CANDIDATES

                       

a)         After the prescribed time limit for receipt of the applications is over, the concerned Directors in DDP would scrutinize each of the applications with regards to the eligibility criterion specified by the DPE.

b)         All the eligible applications would be placed before a three member committee headed by Additional Secretary (Defence Production) with Additional Secretary(Defence) and the concerned Joint Secretary in DDP as members.  The Committee would examine the applications DPSU wise and draw up a panel of at least three suitable candidates per vacancy.

c)         While drawing up the panel, the committee will consider the following parameters:

i)                   The experience of the applicant in dealing with industrial undertakings so that he/she is in a position to add value to the DPSU concerned.

ii)                Special consideration may be given to the applicants who have already registered their names on the DPE website and are recipient of National awards.

iii)            The applicants who are more than 65 years or seeking a second term should generally be discouraged.

d)         In case, the Committee does not find suitable candidates from the applications received, it can also ask any person of proven eminence for his/her consent and propose his/her name.
