Shri S.S.Khurana,
Chairman,
Railway Board,
New Delhi.
Dear Sir,
Kind attention is invited to the Joint letter of the Federations, a reference of which is cited above.
Through the said letter the Federations have expressed protest against delay in constituting High Powered Committee to review the duty hours of Loco Pilots and otherSafety related categories on the Railways.
Through various fora the NFIR has been reminding the Railway Board to take speedy action on the agreement reached with the Federations on vital issues, more particularly “review of duty hours of Running Staff and other Safety categories and grant of 15% upgradation from Group ‘C’ and Group ‘B’ gazetted”. In the recently held PREM meeting (on 14.12.2009) at Apex Level under your Chairmanship, the NFIR has again reminded the Railway Board over non-compliance of agreement. You may appreciate that three years 10 months already passed, but there has been no progress on the issues.
