Rajasthan
government today raised the minimum wages of unskilled, semi-skilled, and
skilled labourers with effecti from January 1, 2011 and devised a new category
of highly-skilled labourer.
Unskilled labourer’s minimum wages has been
raised from Rs.100 to Rs.135, that of semi-skilled from Rs.107 to 145, skilled
from Rs.115 to Rs.155.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot here.
Highly skilled labourer’s minimum wage is fixed
at Rs.205, an official spokesman said.
The state government would also urge the central
government to raise the minimum wages of labourers employed under MGNREGA at
Rs.100 per day, the spokesman said.
