The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal assured the delegation of Punjab Subordinate Services Federation (PSSF) that the state government would soon finalize the modalities for the payment of arrears to its employees and pensioners on the recommendations of the Fifth Punjab Pay Commission.
An assurance to this effect was given
by Badal to the delegation of the (PSSF) led by its conveners Sucha
Singh Khatra and Ranbir Dhillon in a meeting held here on Wednesday.
Badal also directed the Chief Secretary to convene a meeting of the representatives of Punjab Subordinate Services Federation to discuss the pending issues relating to the grant of the assured career progression scheme of 4-9-14 besides the hike in medical, rural and fixed traveling allowances and grant of NPA to the Ayurvedic and Homeopathic doctors on the pattern of allopathic doctors before taking a final decision in this regard.
The Chief Minister also agreed to the proposal to reduce the age of retirement from 33 to 20 years for the entitlement of full pensionery benefits to the employees especially those who had taken late entry into service and asked the Chief Secretary to get this proposal thoroughly examined by the Finance department.
Badal also directed the Chief Secretary to issue guidelines to all the deputy commissioners to set up Women Complaint Cells in all the field offices as per the directions of Supreme Court in the case of Vishakha v/s State of Rajasthan to protect them from the harassment on the working place.

public sector undertakings at the state headquarters.
On the issue of regularization of work charged and adhoc employees, the Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary to prepare a comprehensive proposal stipulating total strength of such employees and the burden on the state exchequer before taking a final decision in this regard as a one time measure as per the directions of Supreme Court in the case of Uma Devi v/s Karnataka government.
He reiterated that the state government was committed to safeguard the interests of its employees at all cost as they were the backbone of the state administration.
He also said that the government was ready to resolve all pending employees' issues with an open mind and positive approach.
