Subject : Extension of Modified  Assured Career progression Scheme to the
Staff Car Drivers of Central Government.
1. Attention of all concerned is invited to para 5 of this  Directorate O M. o f even N o. dated18.09.2009 wherein it was mentioned that  postal Federations have requested to retain the Existing structured  promotion scheme relating to the cadre of Drivers and accordingly it was  decided to continue the existing structured promotion scheme for Drivers. In  the light of this MACPS was not extended to the cadre of Drivers.


2, Department of Personnel & Training vide their O.M.  No.35011/03/2008-I-stt.d (D) dated30.07.2010 (Copy enclosed) has now extended the MACPS to the Staff Car  Drivers of the Central Govt. as a fall back option i.e. if they are unable,  to get promotion within the percentage based present system the benefits of  MACPS shall also be extended to the regular staff Car Drivers of the Central  govt. In other words, the Staff Car Driver Scheme and the MACPS shall run  concurrently.

    In the light o f the extension of MACPS to the cadre of Drivers, the  provision of para 5 of OM dated 18.09.2009 & Para 13 of Annexure I of OM  ibid shall be deemed to have been modified to this extent . Revised  provision, as per above, may be brought to the notice of all concerned.
