PRESS RELEASE

All India BSNL DoT Pensioners’ Association will extend all support and co-operation for the successful conduct of National strike on 7th September, 2010. The nationwide strike has been called upon by the Central Trade Unions including INTUC against the negative approach of the Central Government to control the spiraling price raise of essential commodities, disinvestment of public sector units includingthose with ‘Navaratna’ status and for enforcement of the labour laws. It isneedless to point out that the UPA government is resorting to such anti-peopleactivities as part of the neo-liberal policies being pursued vigorously. AIBDPAviews with serious concern that BSNL also is at the verge of privatization which iscertain to affect adversely even the pensioners. All India BSNL DoT Pensioners’Association, therefore, calls upon all the BSNL DoT Pensioners through out thecountry to actively work with the working class fraternity in the country to makethe national strike on 7th September a grand success.K G Jayaraj General Secretary
