Maharashtra government is mulling over making salary payments of school teachers online to bring transparency in the system.
"We are considering to start online payment for school teachers of aided schools across the state to bring transparency in the system," School Education Minister Balasaheb Thorat informed the Legislative Council here today.
Opposition has been demanding direct payment to the teachers from the government. Thorat said.
Shiv Sena MLC Diwakar Raote raised the issue that the government should ensure payment to the teachers since many educational institutes do not give them full payment.
He said all the teaching staff should be brought on the roll call of the government.
Another Sena MLC Kiran Pavaskar asked if the government would bring an Act to control exorbitant fee hike in the schools.
The government has recently permitted schools to hike fee upto 50 per cent, he said.
