The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to hike the salaries and allowances of the state’s judges and retired judicial officers on recommendations of the E. Padmanabhan committee.
The government has decided to implement the committee’s recommendations from January 1, 2006. Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra announced here yesterday. He said 40 per cent of the arrears will be deposited in GPF accounts of the beneficiaries, while 30 per cent would be paid in cash during the current fiscal.
The remaining 30 per cent will be paid in the financial year 2011-12. The upward pay revision of lower court judges and judicial officers will put an annual burden of Rs 20.05 crore on the state exchequer and Rs 105.24 crore on account of payment of arrears, Mishra said.
