The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of
Prof. T.C.A. Anant, presently Professor, Department of Economics, Delhi School
of Economics, as Chief Statistician of India (Secretary, National Statistical
Commission) with concurrent charge as Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and
Programme Implementation. The appointment will be for a period of 5 years from
the date of assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever
is earlier, subject to the outcome of CAT/Court cases.
