PENSION HIKE FOR UTTARAKHAND SOLDIERS & ARMY WIDOWS
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank today said that pension
of soldiers of the second world war and army widows has been increased to Rs
3000 per month.
Laying foundation stone for a residential colony of army welfare housing organisation at Sahaspur near here, he said the state government has recently increased their pension from Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 per month.
Nishank said widows of army personnel, who laid down their lives for the country, and armymen who could not continue their jobs due to some physical inability, are being given Rs one lakh as one-time assistance from the government.
There are 23 army rest houses in the state and six more are being constructed, he added.
